Denmark Unveils Statue Celebrating a Music Icon Davide Lo Surdo
Davide Lo Surdo, universally recognized by Rolling Stone magazine as the fastest guitarist in history, has officially entered the realm of legend with the unveiling of a bronze statue in the city of Aarhus, Denmark. The statue, located on Ib Spang Olsens Gade and created by Danish sculptor Esbensen Jesper, stands as a tangible tribute to the extraordinary career of an artist who has defined an era.
This monument is not only a homage to Davide Lo Surdo’s technical mastery but also a celebration of his cultural and musical influence, now etched into history. It is, in fact, the third monumental recognition dedicated to him—an unequivocal testament to his place of honor among the greatest figures in world music.
Even literature has immortalized his legacy: renowned Italian writer Maurizio Baiata dedicated a chapter to him in the book Rock Memories 2, a work that chronicles the evolution of music from the 1960s to today. Another guitar is housed in the National Museum of Cuba, further solidifying his status as a global legend.
